In other words, Jesus did not shame people, he loved them.

Christians are supposed to be Christ-like, but we all fall short sometimes. It happens quite frequently on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter because it is easy to post whatever we want and feel consequence-free. Get a good giggle out of it now, but it is not the image that we want to pass off as being Christ-like.

I used to be the biggest offender, posting multiple images like this every single day. I still slip every now and again, but my re-post finger doesn’t itch nearly like it used to. With some practice, Christians can easily identify when a post might feel good but doesn’t quite represent Christ like it should. Here are the top three things Christians should never repost because it goes against everything that Jesus came to die for.

Wrong and wrong again for any Christian.

This first one is a doozy because it most definitely goes against anything that Jesus did for us. Never does Jesus say to walk away from repeat offenders. What he does say is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Jesus was all about hope, love, guidance, understanding and he was the ultimate sacrifice for all of these things. No, Jesus doesn’t like when some people are stuck on the same button all their lives, but he still gives them hope no matter how many times they mess up nor how many times they ask forgiveness. Reference Matthew 18:21-22, Acts 17:11. Anything contrary to this is man-made and unworthy of your time.

This second one makes perfect and total sense to the human mind. Love those who love you and forget the rest. The problem is, for a Christian, that the Bible asks what good it does to love someone who loves you if you don’t show love for those who hate you. The Bible says that it’s easy to love those who love you. Reference Luke 6:27-36, Mark 12:30-31. Life is never too short for a Christian anyway. Christians were given the gift of eternal life so life’s not really all that short, is it? Reference: John 3:16

This one is all over the place and it also makes perfect sense in the human mind. The Christian mind knows that it isn’t correct though. Respect is earned, not given, yet Jesus gave his life so that all mankind had the opportunity to have everlasting life. Jesus’ free gift trumps the manmade idea of earning and score keeping. Stop scorekeeping because it is unbecoming as a Christian. God keeps no record of sins for those who have come to him, accepted Jesus’ free gift of life and ask forgiveness. Psalm 130:3, Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Romans 5:15.

There are many other posts that are similar to the ones posted above, but you get the gist of it. Christians ought to act like Christians all the time. Not just in church or in front of the preacher, but all the time. It’s tougher for some of us than others, but this is easy to change and will show a greater Christian attitude and let those who are not saved know that nothing is ours to judge. This is my own personal life lesson and one that I now look back on and cringe. Don’t let that happen to you.
